What we actually are
Waggie Pty Ltd, trading as Waggie Group, is a Brisbane-based transport company with two divisions. The freight division moves general, refrigerated and oversized road freight across Queensland and interstate. The passenger division runs a bus and coach fleet delivered through a set of specialist brands.
We are not a broker. The vehicles are ours, the drivers are ours, and the person who answers the phone can see the run sheet.
Why the group is structured the way it is
A group of specialist brands looks like marketing until something goes wrong. Then it is the reason a replacement coach can be pulled off another brand’s run, or a trailer reallocated between divisions, without three phone calls to three companies.
Freight and passenger transport have very little in common commercially and a great deal in common operationally — maintenance, compliance, driver management and scheduling are the same disciplines. Sharing those is what makes the specialisation affordable.
How we work
- We quote what the job actually needs. If a smaller vehicle or a different trailer does it cheaper, we will say so.
- We tell you when we cannot help. A referral costs us a job and saves you a failed delivery.
- We put the constraint in the quote. Permit timeframes, terminal slots and curfews are the things that actually move a delivery date, so they belong in writing before you commit, not in an apology afterwards.
Country and community
We operate across Country that has been travelled and cared for far longer than there have been roads on it. The acknowledgement in our footer is not decoration — a transport business that crosses this much land should say so plainly.
