Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Waggie Group collects, why we collect it, how we hold it, and what you can do about it.
Last reviewed 12 September 2026. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Who this policy covers
"Waggie Group" means Waggie Pty Ltd (ABN 12 356 090 415) and its transport subsidiaries. This policy applies to this website and to personal information we handle in the course of providing freight, road transport and logistics services.
What we collect
- Contact and enquiry details — name, business name, phone number, email address, and the pick-up and delivery addresses you give us when requesting a quote or booking a job.
- Consignment information — what is being moved, its weight and dimensions, timing requirements, and any handling instructions.
- Employment applications — where you apply for a role: your work history, licence classes and endorsements, and referee details.
- Website usage — pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and referring site.
We do not seek sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act unless it is directly relevant to a role you have applied for (for example, a medical assessment required to hold a heavy vehicle licence), and then only with your consent.
Why we collect it
- To quote, schedule, perform and invoice transport work
- To contact you about a job in progress, including delays and delivery confirmation
- To meet our obligations under transport, work health and safety, and tax law
- To assess applications for employment
- To improve how this website works
Cookies and analytics
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Cookies on this site do not contain information that identifies you by name. They let us understand traffic patterns and remember your preferences between visits. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
Who we disclose it to
We disclose personal information only where it is necessary to do the job or where the law requires it:
- Subcontracted carriers and drivers performing part of a consignment
- Consignees and their staff, for the purpose of arranging delivery
- Our insurers and professional advisers
- Government agencies where we are legally required to disclose
We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it for third-party marketing.
Overseas disclosure
We do not routinely disclose personal information outside Australia. Some of our IT and email providers store data on servers that may be located overseas. Where that occurs we take reasonable steps under APP 8 to ensure the recipient handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How we hold it and how long
Information is held in access-controlled systems. We retain consignment and financial records for the period required by Australian tax and transport law, generally seven years. Unsuccessful job applications are retained for twelve months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. When information is no longer needed and we are not required to keep it, we destroy or de-identify it.
Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it and notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email contact@waggiegroup.com or write to us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge to make a request, though we may charge for the reasonable cost of supplying a large volume of material.
